Tet revisited
The mystery of the partzufim is that G-d poured out his light into Adam & Chava as representatives of Abba & Imma. Each of the Partzufim is revealed by an individual archetype from Bereshit, in order that we might understand this mystery. This light was hidden by the machination of the Serpent (Nachash), in the method of Tet (hiding light, in order to bring forth good). Just as Israel was hidden in Egypt in order to bring forth great things, we hide light within vessels, that it may bear greater fruit. Just as Adam and Chava were created as perfect tools and fell by choice, we too choose to make mistakes, and create vessels that separate us from holiness, thereby leading to greater good as the light is reborn from these vessels. Birth comes with a curse of pain, as it is written, because unless we are divested of will, it is inevitable that we shall suffer. However, the key is in the aftermath of the pain: what is birthed from it? What is its purpose? The purpose is to cause us to seek purpose. As we find it, the light pours forth from us, and we are made whole again. We see face-to-face our own essence.
Good Omen
Archeologists have found the tomb of Odysseus (yeah, the one who jokingly referred to himself once as Oudeis).
How is it going to end?
I have, from time to time, enjoyed breaking out of my typical gaming genre. Generally I prefer strategy rpg’s, with lots of turn based, movement sensitive type stuff. Mind you, this is only for console gaming, as I haven’t seen a lot of stuff for the PC that I’ve liked in awhile. Pencil and paper are fun too, but I’m not really big on hex maps and miniatures and all that. It’s good for variety, but not as a staple. So when I picked up Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time, it was with a relunctant sniff, but after all, it was on clearance. I’m a clearance game buyer, so I thought I might slog through a couple hours, then give up. More entertainment than most movies.
However, I came to eventually find the combat system tolerable, and the bizarre kissing cousins motif served as the trainwreck that kept me hooked (The main character has the hots for his first cousin). Eventually trespassing into the Truman Show realm of the Twilight Zone, there is something of a mini-game that you can grind away at if you get bored. It’s that mini-game that really hooked me for awhile.
You get to invent things.
Let me put it in context. You’re from a spacefaring society, and to boot, the son of a prominent supah-genius scientist. At some point, you get attacked while on vacation, which leads to an incredulous series of evacuations and continued attacks until the protagonist is stuck on a backwater medieval world. Of course. After a little bit of running about, and a boss fight, you escape, only to be shot down again.
At this point, I’m remembering Prisoner 2 for the Apple ][. “Syntax Error” is replaced with “You talk in circles”.
So you end up on another fairly typical medieval planet in the midst of wars and whatnot. Chaos ensues. However, during this you are able to join… an Inventor’s Guild. Mind you, the protagonist spends at least 20 minutes of cut scene time blabbing about non-interference laws that he really believes in, only to join an Inventor’s Guild??? Okay, plausibility aside… you have different ability scores in different categories of invention, and you can also recruit other inventors all over the planet. So you think, okay, let’s try this out. Noooooo nononono. Gold first.
Lots of it. Incredible amounts. Sometimes 1000′s of gp get eaten up a second during this process (Really!). So you find yourself a bit nervous the first time you start the process. This is justified by the fact that all this gold may not amount to anything at all! You actually wait for their facial expressions to change. The change clearly tells you what’s going on… on some characters. On some I never did figure out if they were happy or sad. But it was important that I wait until I saw happy faces, at least on the people I could tell the difference on. All the sad faces meant nothing the first time I came up with an item 15 levels above what I could buy. I was grinning with them.
Some people are like that. They invest in you: teaching, knowledge, friendship, money, & time, only waiting to see what you’ve come up with. Sometimes they curse when they see that worried look coming. Some grimace, but say nothing. Others focus and stay intent, waiting for the next round. Sometimes two people are watching each other hoping for the right look.
To those who watch me, thank you. To those I watch, good luck. May it all be worth it.

Yeah!
I love it when people start talking about orbital elevators. There’s something practical and utopian about them, I think.

Rosaleda Muda
It’s been a strange week. Finished the Harry Potter series last night at 2 am, averaging a little over a book a day. Tired today. Still fighting with the brokerage, which is irritating, but may be moreso if we miss our third (some of them fourth) extensions on our bills.

Okay… I understand the term Emo… but whenever I hear it used, I think of something else!
